Going into my LASIK surgery I didn't know what to expect. I didn't think it was possible to fix my eyes. When I sat up after the machine finished on me, I immediately, literally couldn't believe my eyes. Everything I looked at had so much detail that I couldn't believe it. I see everything from a different perspective now and it has made my life a lit easier. And I have Dr. Schein and his associates and helpers to thank. Before my surgery they did an amazing job in explaining what to expect that I wasn't nervous when I went in.

One thing that made me even happier than the results themselves was the phone call I received that night from Dr. Schein checking on me. He showed to my family and I that not only does he just do the surgery right, he also cares so much about how your vision really is. I believe that it's extremely hard to find a doctor that actually checks on you after you left his office. I would recommend Dr. Schein and his team to everyone, they do great work and care for you better and more sincerely than anywhere else. Thank you so much guys....I can see.

My LASIK experience was great, so much more than I anticipated. Needless to say I was apprehensive, but knowing my husband went through the same procedure with Dr. Ernst a few years prior, I personally saw the end results and wanted that for myself as well.

During my initial appointment, the entire process was explained to me step by step as we went through the steps to determine if I would be a candidate for LASIK surgery. The staff (Dawn) made it a very comfortable experience. When confirmed I was a candidate, I was very excited and couldn't wait for my scheduled surgery day.

The morning of surgery, the staff again made me feel very comfortable and explained the procedure steps. I was nervous, but excited too. While sitting in the waiting room, another patient commented they had just watched the procedure through a window, and I felt impelled to do the same. I had done my homework and read all the brochures and paperwork, but as a person who likes to know all the details going behind the scenes, what a better way to be informed than to watch it firsthand.

It was fascinating to watch; amazing that your whole world can change in a matter of minutes! You literally put your eyesight in the hands of an individual who is virtually unknown to you. But be rest assured, this is where the doctor's reputation as a highly trained and skilled professional comes into being. Dr. Ernst is a leader in his field, and for my eyesight, I wanted the best. I was very calm, the procedure went without incident and I couldn't wait to see the world without glasses. It was an unbelievable experience.

A few weeks later, I am extremely happy I had the procedure done and my only regret is that I didn't have it sooner. Thank you Dr. Ernst, you literally changed my life.

Deciding to have LASIK was one of the best decisions I've made. I am so glad that I chose Dr. Schein to perform the procedure. He and his team of nurses were very informative and took the time to make sure I was comfortable, and to answer any questions. Professionalism and convenience.... these two words sum up the service I received from Dr. Mishra and Schein Ernst Eye Associates. I waited quite a while to have the LASIK procedure.

I cannot thank Dr. Mishra and staff enough for putting me at ease through the procedure and how well I can see now.

My experience started with a phone call to Dawn to schedule my consultation. She was able to fit me in quickly as I had to travel 2 hours each way for any appointments. Testing and the consultation with Dr. Ernst was very quick, easy, and informative. A bit of time was spent on the issue of monovision versus correcting for distance.

I elected to not have the monovision. The surgery day arrived and all the staff were very helpful in preparation and during the 10 minutes actually in the suite. I would say my experience has been extremely pleasurable even though it was surgery. After more than 35 years of glasses and contacts to see clearly past a few feet I now only use the lowest power reading glasses for smaller fonts. 20/15 in each eye. My only issue is why did I wait so long? Thank you Dr. Ernst and staff.

I was fearful of having Lasik. However, the day of the procedure, the quiet confidence of the surgical team put me at ease. It was clear they had performed the procedure many times as the surgery proceeded in a swift and precise manner. These folks are real "pros".

It is hard to believe I had LASIK eye surgery three months ago. I am not one to spend money on myself, but this was well worth it.  It is definitely life changing!  It is amazing how quickly I got out of the habit of putting my contacts in and out.

That's the first thing I can say. I never imagined that I would be able to see this well. I always wore contacts and they worked fine but now, after my LASIK with Dr. Ernst, I see so much better. Everything is brighter, clearer, and crisper - I Love It!!!!

After considering LASIK surgery for several years, I finally made the decision to have it done. While searching out the many facilities that offer LASIK surgery, a friend recommended Dr. Schein. I had already talked to and visited numerous other offices. I spoke with Dawn (LASIK Coordinator) numerous times over the phone in the following few weeks. She was very patient, understanding, and knowledgeable. I scheduled the first appointment and was very satisfied with the timeliness and treatment I received.

During previous visit to a different eye care center, I felt like they were "pushing the sale" instead of walking me through it. After meeting with Dr. Schein, I feel very assured that this was the place for me to have the surgery.

When I asked Dr. Schein a question, he could not answer immediately. He said he would research it and get back to me. Sure enough, he personally called me with the answer!

The day for surgery finally came and the entire staff was very professional and courteous, and acted in a way that made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. My entire experience with Schein Ernst Eye Associates was fantastic and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Words cannot express the thanks I would like to extend to Dr. Ernst, Dawn and the rest of the staff at Schein-Ernst Associates for my recent LASIK experience. You have given me a quality of life I have not known since I was 14 (I am 50). Since Lasik (less than 2 weeks ago) I have enjoyed running a race and a lengthy hike in the woods without any glasses fogging up! That's a huge deal for me - just to be able to get out of bed in the morning and be able to see the moment you open your eyes - I have to keep reminding myself I don't need to reach for my eye glasses.

The entire experience was wonderful. Everyone treated me with kindness. I felt very comfortable about my choice for lasik with Schein-Ernst. All my questions were thoroughly answered. The environment always professional and sensitive to all my questions and concerns.

What was most comforting to me was the actual day of the lasik. Everyone was very kind. During the procedure, the team with Dr. Ernst, performed the lasik in a professional and well-paced manner. They were always reassuring to me which made this a very comfortable experience.

My LASIK experience went very well. My doctor was Dr. Mishra who is very nice and a true professional. All the doctors and nurses are great. The surgery went well and I felt no pain. The doctors and nurses were calming and understanding. They made me feel comfortable, relaxed and knowing I was in good hands. If I had to do it again, I would in a minute!

Though I haven't lived in the Harrisburg area in 17 years, I came back on vacation and chose to have Dr. Schein perform LASIK, and I wasn't sorry! From Dawn's attentiveness to my inquiries, even while I was overseas, to the entire staff's friendly nature at each stage, I felt comfortable and confident. The whole process was like a well oiled machine. Everyone knew his/her part and explained clearly whatever I needed to know. I was very apprehensive about the epi-LASEK procedure. However, all I can say is that the whole experience was wonderful. After hearing all the horror stories, my fears were immediately eased after my initial consultation with Dr. Ernst and his staff. Dawn was very knowledgeable and my consultation showed I was not a candidate for LASIK, but epi-LASEK.

On the day of my procedure, Amy went over everything I should expect during the procedure. As I entered the surgical suite, Stephanie helped me relax and Dr. Ernst began the procedure. Within less than 10 minutes, it was all over and I could SEE!!!! It was awesome!!

Five days later, I am still able to see, but I understand that it takes 2-6 weeks for my vision to stabilize. The discomfort was not at all as bad as I expected. I would do it again tomorrow!

My LASIK experience at Schein Ernst Eye Associates:

Absolutely a miracle! I have worn some form of corrective lenses for 41 years, since I was 8 years old. I had a lot of astigmatism ad was very nearsighted....could not see more than 1 foot in front of me! I had great vision with gas permeable lenses but eventually developed intolerance to them and then tried soft lenses with some success. Then I developed a dry eye problem, after getting that problem under control with the help of my longtime eye doctor, Dr. McLin. I finally decided to do what I had been thinking about for years. With the skillful (more than magical) help of Dr. Ernst I do not need any form of correction. I had the mono vision procedure done and love it! I actually had the procedure done in 10/06, and have been marveling since, waiting to wake up from the dream, but it is a reality. The staff at Schein Ernst Eye Associates were wonderfully caring and the procedure itself was done in minutes and I could see the results immediately. I definitely am recommending Schein Ernst to anyone who asks me.

It took less than 15 minutes to change my life. For 30 years, without corrective lenses, I could not see two feet in front of me. In order to wrestle with my son, I had to take off my glasses and everything was a blur or colors. I didn't enjoy going to the pool or the beach because I needed my glasses to see where my son was, but I was afraid I would lose them in the water. And trying to find a dry piece of clothing to wipe my glasses in the middle of a snowball fight was just about impossible.

Dr. Ernst and his staff have changed my life because these problems no longer exist. Every detail of LASIK was explained in terms I could understand and could relate to my family and friends. I researched the technology which is state of the art and I felt very safe knowing every effort for error on my part had been preempted. The fact that some of the staff had personally undergone the surgery was incredibly reassuring.
