Dr. Ernst performed my Lasik and multifocal inplant surgery about two years ago. WOW WOW I am so happy with the results. I am 67 years old and had worn glasses since 5th grade. I no longer wear ANY glasses, except sunglasses. I can read everything without glasses and see everything clearly. I just had my annual checkup this week and my vision is still 20/20 for distance and reading. I would highly recommend this surgery it is well worth it:))

I’m coming up quickly on my one-year appointment post-op for Lasik eye surgery, and I am so happy I chose Schein Ernst Mishra! I barely ever think about my eyes anymore, and I can’t tell you how refreshing that is! The surgery itself was very quick and the nurses were all very soothing, even holding my hand because I am nervous about anything around my eyes. However, it was over and I was headed home before I knew it. I am so relieved with my experience at Schein Ernst Mishra Eye. Understandably, I’m petrified when anyone comes near my eyes and I have to try and remain calm even for simple eye exams. I was nervous about choosing the right facility for my LASIK eye surgery, but those fears were put to rest at Schein Ernst Mishra Eye. From my first consultation onwards, the friendly staff has handled me and my nervousness with the greatest of care. All of the front desk staff greet me by my name and both Dawn and Michelle have gone out of their way to help answer my questions. Dr. Ernst’s professionalism and tact has been greatly reassuring as well, and the surgery itself went just fine, even though I was apprehensive and jumpy beforehand. Life after LASIK is incredible. I had LASIK procedure done on March 19, 2015. I was very impressed with the procedure itself and Dr. Ernst and his staff. They were very professional and informative throughout the entire process. During the actual procedure, they let me know what was going on every step of the way and frequently asked me if I was okay. I am very happy with the results. I was very impressed with Dr. Ernst when he called me at home later in the day on the day of my procedure to make sure I was doing okay. The follow-up appointment the next day went very well. The staff checked to make sure everything was progressing okay, informed me of everything I needed to do, and let me know what I should expect in the upcoming week. Although the procedure is not for everyone, I would definitely recommend having it done at Schein Ernst Mishra Eye.

Of course I was concerned having my eyes operated on. I am by trade a crane operator and instructor so clarity and my perception need to be precise. I discussed my situation with Dr. Ernst and he took the time to help me decide which procedure would be best for my needs. I wanted to wait 1 week before writing this so I can give a true evaluation. It was without a doubt the best decision for me and my needs. I still get excited and thrilled when I wake up in the and can see everything. It’s all in the details and Schein Ernst Eye did not miss a detail. Every single detail was outlined,explained and discussed. Everyone at the facility has a specific role and it is carried out with great care.
I was very afraid that my prescription was to bad for correction. Change is scary and when you think of your eyesight nothing is more frightening in my opinion. I have been wearing glasses since elementary school and they have gotten progressively stronger as I aged. I really wanted to see more clearly, but did not know what to expect.
Dawn my coordinator was terrific. I can’t tell you how many times I called her with questions, and she was very understanding and set my mind at ease. I knew exactly what the payment was, my appointments were scheduled in advance and she followed up as promised. Stephanie was so thorough with my exam, so patient with my questions and very competent in what she does.
The day of the surgery Nicole was tasked and getting me prepared. I was nervous and silly and a little dopey but she was very friendly and patient. Nicole went over every single detail for post op care.

I had been thinking about LASIK for several years but never got around to doing it. The quality of care that Schein + Ernst provided to me the day of my surgery was extraordinary! The time and effort they had given me before and after my surgery was above and beyond my expectations. Dr. Ernst was great and Dawn, one of the assistance, was fabulous. It’s been over a week and I am still adjusting to my new vision/ My right eye is 20/20 and my left is 20/25 or 20/30. Swelling is still there. I have had a week checkup already and will go back in 1 1/2 weeks again. I do not see as clear as I did with contacts but they say it will come in time. Some others heal faster than others. I have spoken to others in the Schein + Ernst office and they’ve had great results. I hope to be one soon as well. I can’t stop smiling! I guess that pretty much sums it up because it’s hard to adequately express just how ecstatic I am about my new eyesight! After a year of continual problems, eye infections, and finally determining I was allergic to almost every kind of contact lens,my optometrist referred me to Dr Ernst for LASIK surgery. It was by far the best money I have ever spent! The staff offered information and support but in no way made me feel pressured to go this route. I’m very happy that I finally decided to have my LASIK surgery. After years of irritating contacts and a lack of peripheral vision with glasses and bifocals, enough was enough.
I felt very comfortable with Dr. Ernst and the staff at Schein Ernst Eye Associates. They were very knowledgeable and professional. My initial exam was very thorough and I was given all the facts I needed to make an informed decision about my procedure.
On the day of the surgery, I was, of course, nervous, but the staff put me at ease. Everyone was friendly and encouraging.
The procedure itself was a piece of cake. Before I left the office, the staff made sure that I understood the instructions for the care of my eyes that day and for the coming weeks (which were very simple and easy to follow). Dr. Ernst called me later that afternoon to check up on me and to ask if I had any questions.
The most surprising, and best part is that I had much less discomfort than I had imagined. My eyes hadn’t felt that good in years after wearing contacts. My follow up exam the next day revealed that my vision had improved to 20-15. My close up and night vision continue to improve each passing day.
I can’t stop raving about my results to friends and co-workers. I would highly recommend Schein Ernst Eye Associates for those considering LASIK.

I perceive Dr. Alan Schein to be a gifted eye surgeon and caring human being. My LASIK surgery on Oct. 21, 2010 for”far” vision empowered me to see better while driving to protect others. Also, to see the wondrous blessings around us. He removed cataracts from my dearest mother’s eyes successfully. Unfortunately, she passed away in 1999 from Leukemia. Her name was Irene Briercheck. Going into my LASIK surgery I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t think it was possible to fix my eyes. When I sat up after the machine finished on me, I immediately, literally couldn’t believe my eyes. Everything I looked at had so much detail that I couldn’t believe it. My LASIK experience was great, so much more than I anticipated. Needless to say I was apprehensive, but knowing my husband went through the same procedure with Dr. Ernst a few years prior, I personally saw the end results and wanted that for myself as well.
During my initial appointment, the entire process was explained to me step by step as we went through the steps to determine if I would be a candidate for LASIK surgery. The staff (Dawn) made it a very comfortable experience. When confirmed I was a candidate, I was very excited and couldn’t wait for my scheduled surgery day.
The morning of surgery, the staff again made me feel very comfortable and explained the procedure steps. I was nervous, but excited too. While sitting in the waiting room, another patient commented they had just watched the procedure through a window, and I felt impelled to do the same. I had done my homework and read all the brochures and paperwork, but as a person who likes to know all the details going behind the scenes, what a better way to be informed than to watch it firsthand.
It was fascinating to watch; amazing that your whole world can change in a matter of minutes! You literally put your eyesight in the hands of an individual who is virtually unknown to you. But be rest assured, this is where the doctor’s reputation as a highly trained and skilled professional comes into being. Dr. Ernst is a leader in his field, and for my eyesight, I wanted the best. I was very calm, the procedure went without incident and I couldn’t wait to see the world without glasses. It was an unbelievable experience.

My experience started with a phone call to Dawn to schedule my consultation. She was able to fit me in quickly as I had to travel 2 hours each way for any appointments. Testing and the consultation with Dr. Ernst was very quick, easy, and informative. A bit of time was spent on the issue of monovision versus correcting for distance.
I elected to not have the monovision. The surgery day arrived and all the staff were very helpful in preparation and during the 10 minutes actually in the suite. I would say my experience has been extremely pleasurable even though it was surgery. After more than 35 years of glasses and contacts to see clearly past a few feet I now only use the lowest power reading glasses for smaller fonts. 20/15 in each eye. My only issue is why did I wait so long? Thank you Dr. Ernst and staff.

It is hard to believe I had LASIK eye surgery three months ago. I am not one to spend money on myself, but this was well worth it. It is definitely life changing! It is amazing how quickly I got out of the habit of putting my contacts in and out.

That’s the first thing I can say. I never imagined that I would be able to see this well. I always wore contacts and they worked fine but now, after my LASIK with Dr. Ernst, I see so much better. Everything is brighter, clearer, and crisper – I Love It!!!!

After considering LASIK surgery for several years, I finally made the decision to have it done. While searching out the many facilities that offer LASIK surgery, a friend recommended Dr. Schein. I had already talked to and visited numerous other offices. I spoke with Dawn (LASIK Coordinator) numerous times over the phone in the following few weeks. She was very patient, understanding, and knowledgeable. I scheduled the first appointment and was very satisfied with the timeliness and treatment I received.
During previous visit to a different eye care center, I felt like they were”pushing the sale” instead of walking me through it. After meeting with Dr. Schein, I feel very assured that this was the place for me to have the surgery.
When I asked Dr. Schein a question, he could not answer immediately. He said he would research it and get back to me. Sure enough, he personally called me with the answer!
The day for surgery finally came and the entire staff was very professional and courteous, and acted in a way that made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. My entire experience with Schein Ernst Eye Associates was fantastic and I would highly recommend them to anyone!
My vision is now better than 20/20.

Words cannot express the thanks I would like to extend to Dr. Ernst, Dawn and the rest of the staff at Schein-Ernst Associates for my recent LASIK experience. You have given me a quality of life I have not known since I was 14 (I am 50). Since Lasik (less than 2 weeks ago) I have enjoyed running a race and a lengthy hike in the woods without any glasses fogging up! That’s a huge deal for me – just to be able to get out of bed in the morning and be able to see the moment you open your eyes – I have to keep reminding myself I don’t need to reach for my eye glasses.
The entire experience was wonderful. Everyone treated me with kindness. I felt very comfortable about my choice for lasik with Schein-Ernst. All my questions were thoroughly answered. The environment always professional and sensitive to all my questions and concerns.
What was most comforting to me was the actual day of the lasik. Everyone was very kind. During the procedure, the team with Dr. Ernst, performed the lasik in a professional and well-paced manner. They were always reassuring to me which made this a very comfortable experience.

My LASIK experience went very well. My doctor was Dr. Mishra who is very nice and a true professional. All the doctors and nurses are great. The surgery went well and I felt no pain. My LASIK experience in December 2006 was truly amazing. The professionalism and care I received from the staff and doctors made me feel that I was important to them. I just wanted to send a thank you for my LASIK. I absolutely loved it! It’s been a while since I have had it done, but I’m still amazed that I can see without glasses or contacts. I’ve gone to the beach multiple times this year and it’s wonderful to swim, be on the beach or go to the pool without glasses. Rain is no longer a problem and no marks on your nose are also a plus. I was very apprehensive about the epi-LASEK procedure. However, all I can say is that the whole experience was wonderful. After hearing all the horror stories, my fears were immediately eased after my initial consultation with Dr. Ernst and his staff. Dawn was very knowledgeable and my consultation showed I was not a candidate for LASIK, but epi-LASEK.
On the day of my procedure, Amy went over everything I should expect during the procedure. As I entered the surgical suite, Stephanie helped me relax and Dr. Ernst began the procedure. Within less than 10 minutes, it was all over and I could SEE!!!! It was awesome!!
Five days later, I am still able to see, but I understand that it takes 2-6 weeks for my vision to stabilize. The discomfort was not at all as bad as I expected. I would do it again tomorrow!

My LASIK experience at Schein Ernst Eye Associates:
Absolutely a miracle! I have worn some form of corrective lenses for 41 years, since I was 8 years old. I had a lot of astigmatism ad was very nearsighted….could not see more than 1 foot in front of me! I had great vision with gas permeable lenses but eventually developed intolerance to them and then tried soft lenses with some success. Then I developed a dry eye problem, after getting that problem under control with the help of my longtime eye doctor, Dr. McLin. I finally decided to do what I had been thinking about for years. With the skillful (more than magical) help of Dr. Ernst I do not need any form of correction. I had the mono vision procedure done and love it! I actually had the procedure done in 10/06, and have been marveling since, waiting to wake up from the dream, but it is a reality. The staff at Schein Ernst Eye Associates were wonderfully caring and the procedure itself was done in minutes and I could see the results immediately. I definitely am recommending Schein Ernst to anyone who asks me.

It took less than 15 minutes to change my life. For 30 years, without corrective lenses, I could not see two feet in front of me. In order to wrestle with my son, I had to take off my glasses and everything was a blur or colors. I didn’t enjoy going to the pool or the beach because I needed my glasses to see where my son was, but I was afraid I would lose them in the water. And trying to find a dry piece of clothing to wipe my glasses in the middle of a snowball fight was just about impossible.
Dr. Ernst and his staff have changed my life because these problems no longer exist. Every detail of LASIK was explained in terms I could understand and could relate to my family and friends. I researched the technology which is state of the art and I felt very safe knowing every effort for error on my part had been preempted.
