Dr. Ernst

Brett B. Ernst, MD

Brett B. Ernst, M.D., is a graduate of Wayne State Medical School. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cleveland Clinic and is a board certified ophthalmologist. He moved to Harrisburg with his wife Mariann and daughters Alexandra and Victoria in 1993. Dr. Ernst is Chief of Ophthalmology for Pinnacle Health Systems and is also assistant clinical professor at Penn State University School of Medicine. Dr. Ernst is a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Society of Cataract Surgeons. Dr. Ernst has been named a Top 50 Surgeon by Sightpath Medical.

Dr. Klombers

Lee A. Klombers, MD

Dr. Klombers joined our practice in 2011. He sees an incredibly wide range of diseases which affect the visual system at all ages. In particular, his experience with eye movement disorders allows him to provide the highest level of care, often beyond what is available at academic institutions. He has performed over 15,000 strabismus surgeries to date, He retired in 2023.

Dr. Schein

Dr. Alan L. Schein

Dr. Schein joined Dr. Phillips, and was among the first Ophthalmologists to perform corneal transplants as well as offering intraocular lenses for cataract surgery. In the transition of Dr. Phillips’ retirement in 1979, Dr. Schein took over the practice and rebranded as Schein Eye. Dr. Schein retired in 2014.

Warren C. Phillips

Dr. Phillips, the first residency trained Ophthalmologist in Central PA, started his practice known as Phillips Eye. He was noted for bringing new surgical techniques to the practice, including strabismus surgery for children.
